I am building an AC remote control?
How do i find the frequencies at which the different buttons on the remote function. I hooked up the oscilloscope to the oscillator which was power by a power supply at three volts. Its a comfort star ductless unit remote control so the IC is in the center of the board. i was warned by the lab tech not to touch it as it may short it out but i need the frequencies for the on off function and the temperature up and down. how would i go about that.
It is not frequencies, but bursts of light in different digital code patterns.
I don't know about this "comfort star ductless unit ", but TVs, radios, DVD players and the like are digital pulses.
Some are in the 35-45 kHz range also. Hook the scope to the LED (if it has one) and you can see the pulses. For evey button there is a string of pulses. There is first part is a manufacturer's code followed by the function code.
