Can I adapt my mobile home 110v wiring to run a 220v ductless Air Conditioner?

Killer deal on a Mitsubishi Mr Slim Air Conditioner (18K BTU) in the box...but I have a mobile home with a (100 amp) 110v circuit at the drop. Is it possible to change the existing wiring to use the 220v A/C?

Best advice call your service utility company and inquire if 240 volt service is available in your area, if it is available is then is their charge to change your service,
If it is available call a qualified electrical company to either change or rebuild your existing electrical panel to work on 240 volts, in most area a permit from the municipality is required to assure safe installation

The ductless system Mr Slim has a unit that works on 110 volt if your existing system has enough capacity to handle an additional 30 amp load this would be a lot less costly than conversion to 240 volt system

Mr Slim requires a panel feed for outside condensing unit from panel ( typically 30 Amp 120 Volt ) on an isolated circuit breaker as well as a feed from the panel for inside blower coil (15 amp 120 volt ) you will need an aditional 2 to 4 wire from inside blower unit to outside condensing unit, Inside coil to outside unit will also require a line set from inside blower unit to outside condensing unit ,typically sized by MITSUBISHI not over 50 feet in length both liquid refrigerant line and suction line should be isolated and covered in armer flex insulation, the inside blower coil will also require a drain line to outside to discard condenated water If you are not familiar with A/C work better hire a Air Conditioning man and an electrician It is a great unit but can be a tricky install especially the first time

18000 btu is about a 1 1/2 ton rating it would be less expensive to buy a 110 volt unit
