Laptop Backlight Issues?
Hello! The problem with my Toshiba laptop is very similar to the problems many of the other people here are having. My back light works fine except whenever I have to close the lid and put it to sleep or turn it off. When booting up and up to the point where I have to type in my password to log in to my account, the screen is lit up. Once I am logged in, the back light turns off and the only way to get it back on is to repeatedly shut and open the monitor until the back light is on. It’s like a game and I have to open it a very precise way or the back light will flash on for a split second and then turn off. If it is the inverter, is it possible that it is just loose and it can’t tell when the screen is open or closed? Thank you.

Sounds like a problem with either the sensor or the wiring being loose. If you haven't called Toshiba, try it, they may have a solution for you.
