Would my LG Mini Split Consume same amount of energy if I run it at 29 degrees or 24degrees?
Its a 2 Ton LG Mini Split.
I am looking to save energy, so I have been running the AC at 29 degrees, but a friend of mine, " AC Technician" told me that it doesn't matter how high or low I runn it, it will still consume the same amount of energy. How true is this?? Please Help!!

Depends on what the ambient outside temperature is.
If it is 20ºC/68ºF outside then it does not matter if you set it for 29ºC/84ºF or 24ºC/75ºF, the unit will always be off.
If it is 50ºC/122ºF outside then it doesn't really matter which setting it is on, the unit will run full time at Max.
If it is 26ºC/79ºF outside then it does matter if you set it for 29ºC/84ºF or 24ºC/75ºF, the unit will be off at the 29ºC setting and occasionally kick on at the 24ºC setting.
Chances are that your friend was indicating that the difference in price is negligible compared to the comfort you may feel. I know from personal experience the higher the temperature the more fluids you need to drink. Too much water is bad for a body, so more money is spent on beverages. So overall lifestyle cost may be cheaper to turn the AC down a notch.
