Furnace blower motor works outside the furnace but once it is installed it just hums?
Trane furnace. Blower motor spins freely. Is not binding when installed in furnace.
If I read correctly, you said it worked outside of the furnace. If you powered it from the same wires from the furnace it sounds as if there may be a loose connection at one end of the wires or the other (Crimp spade connections are notorious for loosing a good connection). Another possibility is a broken wire. If you can safely do it, move the wires while the motor is installed.
