Why the air conditioner pump is on when the engine is cold.?
The air conditioner pump of My 1994 dodge caravan is on in the cold morning when I warming up the engine. please tell me why.
I know that on SOME cars, the a/c runs to control the humidity inside the car; like in my '04 Corvette. But I also own a '94 Caravan, and have never seen that with the van. I don't know, you sure you're looking at the a/c compressor? or maybe it's the air pump instead? Or are you sure the a/c is turned off on the dash?
The only possible thing I can think of other than this is a broken a/c on/off switch on the control panel of your dashboard. But that's pretty unlikely.
Are you SURE the compressor is ON? Look under the hood to see if it is engaged. I think maybe it's just getting colder outside, and you're feeling the cold air from the heater. It takes awhile to heat up; it's not instantly warm, you know.
